This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 19, 2008:
I think about something or do something that will put a smile on my face.
A hike in nature is a great antidote to the blues, as is meditation or listening to music. My favorite CDs for quitening the mind are Karunesh's "Call of the Mystic" and my own "Magic of Gayatri". Not by coincidence, Karunesh and I have the same Bansuri flute player, Bikram Rajkumar, one of India's best.
I have a wonderful friend and mentor whose name is Jerry Jampolsky. he always reminds me that life is about choices and that I have the choice to stay in a dark place or to come i out into a place of Light.
If I can remember this gem, then I usually snap out of it.
If one is feeling down, isn't it about either anger, which is related to the past, or fear, which is related to the future? Tolle is so right when he says that by focusing on the Now, the present, we can avoid situations of anger and fear and hence, feeling down.
